Tron D. Welch CFP®, MBA, AIF®
Tron is the founder of Welch Financial Planning, LLC, a Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Investment Fiduciary. Tron has been in the financial industry for over 20 years and founded his business in 2007. WFP, LLC is an independent financial services firm that develops and implements comprehensive financial planning, including retirement planning, tax strategies, protective measures, and investments.
He provides a customized, client-centered approach to help individuals, families, and small businesses achieve financial success. Tron takes pride in his ability to collaborate with his clients to develop strategies and solutions that are unique to their lives. As a fiduciary, Tron is dedicated to focusing on what is best for each individual client. WFP, LLC offers fee-based financial planning services, further reducing potential conflicts of interest.
Tron’s enjoyment of the financial planning process extends to the classroom where he appreciates the opportunity to support a wide range of learners, from financial planners interested in strengthening their practices to community members seeking to develop their financial acuity.
In his spare time, Tron frequents sporting events, travels with his family, does relief work with Team Rubicon and enjoys trail running.
Lisa Cowan
Lisa graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and has worked in financial services for 14 years. She started her career in Arizona, first as a credit manager for AmeriCredit, then with Vanguard in their Retail Operations department. Before joining Welch Financial Planning, LLC in 2018, Lisa worked as a broker in the Virtual Branch Office at Scottrade, which was acquired by TD Ameritrade.
With her financial services background and Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses, Lisa brings analytical skills, financial product knowledge, as well as a client-centered focus to our firm as a financial advisor. Her expertise includes creative problem-solving and helping craft individualized plans for our clients.
Outside of work, Lisa has served in numerous volunteer and leadership positions at her children’s schools and outside charity organizations. She enjoys long walks with her husband and two dogs, cheering on her youngest son at his baseball games, traveling to Arizona to visit her middle son at her alma mater, and working alongside her daughter at WFP.
Brittany Lopez
Since originally joining Welch Financial Planning in 2019 as administrative assistant, Brittany graduated with a B.A. in Professional and Creative Writing. She has honed in on her writing/editing skills and is dedicated to keeping clients up to date on all things finance through newsletters, blog posts, and exclusive resources to enhance the client experience. Though most of her time at WFP, LLC is spent behind the scenes, Brittany is always happy to help our clients any way she can and loves visiting them at our many client appreciation events. In her down time, she currently spends most of her free time planning her wedding and learning Japanese with her fiancé for their honeymoon.
Krystal Kappeler
Krystal began her time at Welch Financial Planning as an intern while she finished her B.S. degree in Business Administration back in 2013. In her career outside the firm, she managed financial forecasting for Coca-Cola Refreshments and went on to manage the Boettcher Foundation's Scholarship Program. She is ecstatic to re-join our team as Client Services Coordinator, and she is committed to providing our clientele with the tools they need to support their financial wellbeing. In her off time, Krystal enjoys volunteering as Chair on Coca-Cola Scholars’ Foundation’s Alumni Advisory Board, teaching Aqua Zumba, and SCUBA diving.
Ryley Cowan
Ryley began her experience with WFP back in 2019 as an administrative intern, where she assisted us with our extensive broker/dealer transition, and has since found her passion in small businesses. During her collegiate career and postgraduate, she has honed her skills in professional client services, sales, marketing, and business development.
Ryley is ecstatic that her new position as Tron's Executive Assistant has brought her back to Colorado. She enjoys being the first point of contact for our clients, helping the team with tax preparation and account maintenance, as well as managing Tron’s calendar. When she is not busy working, you can find her enjoying the sunshine, practicing yoga, laughing with her friends and family, or reading her book club pick of the month!
